Lesson 13:
Writing a memory poem.
To reinforce students’ understanding of poetry, students are asked to write a poem about a personal memory. The poem should include line breaks, sensory details and other characteristics of poetry. Students are asked to brainstorm two memories, and then select one to write a poem about. Ideally, you can use live instructional time or a prerecorded video to model brainstorming your own personal memory and writing a poem about it.
